ABOUT THE MISSION
In today’s world, much of what is seen and heard is filtered, and many people hesitate to express their true opinions. While NFH cannot change the entire world, it can transform a small part of it—how the history of Riga is shared with tourists and locals. The goal is to present Riga’s history honestly, not only highlighting the “good” but also exploring the “bad” and the “controversial.” This is made possible because NFH operates as a one-person project, allowing complete control over every aspect.
So, who am I? My name is Miks. I’m a 20 year old certified tour guide in Latvia and a history student at the University of Latvia. As a child, I participated in dozens of tours, which helped me get to know Riga like the back of my hand. Now, I want to offer you the same opportunity.
But this project is about more than just history. In a world where political and military conflicts are on the rise, I believe in giving back. That’s why 20% of all income from this initiative is donated to military and humanitarian aid, with a focus on supporting Ukraine and Gaza. By supporting this project, you’re not just learning about history—you’re also leaving your own mark. If anyone is interested in collaborating, feel free to reach out via email at [email protected].
I could write pages about what I hope to achieve with this project, but it’s best to let the audio tours speak for themselves.
